    @kensing45: Wichita State is not simply a good mid-major: it's a full-fledged power program http://www.todaysu.com/mcbb/wichita-...015-offseason/
    This is the same site (different author) that had the column a couple of weeks ago by a UK fan saying WSU was nothing special and any expectation of a Final Four next year was ridiculous. Of course, the UK fan responded to the author of this new piece on twitter, disagreeing with his position. Big surprise.

      So you're basically saying it is the effective replacement for the old bleacherreport.com? Like The Price is Right for amateur "journalists?" Got something to say? Come on down!

        Yup. At this point a regular season conference championship goes without saying.

        The question with WSU is "Can they be the non-major conference team to win a national championship?" not "will they win their conference?" If we don't win our conference it's because another Valley team suddenly becomes terrific -- and even that, with a national POY contender, the conference COY, and bringing in 8 players with no D1 experience wasn't enough to stop us last year.

          Wichita State Shockers

          The Shockers’ backcourt of Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet is back and up there with any in the country. Gregg Marshall returned to Wichita, as well, after passing on a ton of money to go to Alabama. Wichita also added what could be a key piece in Cleveland State grad transfer Anton Grady, who will be effective as long as he stays healthy. The 6-8, 225-pound forward averaged 14.3 points and 7.9 boards last season in the Horizon League. He’ll help ease the departure of Darius Carter, but Wichita will also struggle to replace do-it-all guard Tekele Cotton. Marshall will need one of Shaquille Morris or Rashard Kelly to make a jump from a year ago, or freshman forward Markis McDuffie (ESPN, No. 93) to come in and make an immediate impact.

            I rarely agree wuith Mumbles, but here he seems coherent.

            • Last spring Mark Turgeon was seen by some as being on the "hot seat." This spring, one sports book believes he's got the early favorite to win the national title in 2016.

              • If anyone would have told me a few years ago that WSU would 25/1 odds to win a title, the word national definitely wouldnt have come to mind.

                  WSU #10...I will say if WSU was in the ACC, Big10/12ish/East or SEC we would be getting a top 5 mention. Bias is still rampant, but that is what keeps the "chip on the shoulder", so to say.

                    You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

                    .....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

                      Adding Ryan baker makes 20 players now? Wonder if he's taking Rons scholarship

                              You're all wrong. It's Rob Barker. Rob and Red Van Fleet are a lethal backcourt duo.
