  • Is there any news on the new guys?

There has been zero chatter on here about for freshman and JUCOs this summer. Surely someone has some info/scouting reports they'd like to share.

The coach said wamukoda is standing out said he is better than arupke and nerger can shoot it from the deep well for a big guy sad should make for some tough match ups for the others teams similar to wragge did last year.

There would be nothing better for WSU this season than for Bush Dubya to be awesome. That right there would be all the difference. I'd love to see opposing players try to take it inside strong but just wind up beating around the Bush.

We definitely need him for Memphis

Also I hope B-Wam has more balls than Wragge. Playing zero D, then hiding outside and shooting threes when McD gets stumped is not my idea of fun basketball

I personally don't think Wragge was that tough of a match up. He was strictly a one dimensional player. All you need to do is recognize when he is on the floor and guard him on the perimeter. You generally had no concern about him taking the ball to the basket. He took 242 shots last season. 234 of those were 3-point attempts. He only made it to the FT line 38 times in 35 games. He had about the same number of rebounds per game as Creighton PG Austin Chapman and he had 1 fewer blocked shots (4) than Doug McDermott.

I will be very disappointed if Rauno Nurger doesn't bring a whole lot more to the floor overall than Ethan Wragge's game of horse. Rauno, at 6-10, 237 as a freshman will no doubt be expected to do a lot of damage in and around the basket including rebounding, defense and blocking some shots. The ability to knock down an occasional perimeter shot will be icing on the cake, but I doubt he will be take 97% of his shots from beyond the arc.

Personally, I am hoping for a bigger, better version of Paul Miller.

If by the his senior season at WSU it turns out that Nurger is a Wragge version 2.0, I will implement a self-imposed 1 year ban from ShockerNet.

A guy like Wragge wouldn't sniff the floor for a Gregg Marshall team. You can't play of if you don't defend and rebound.

I notice that the person introducing Wragge into the conversation has 2 posts, didn't say anything that's not pretty much the general consensus about Wamukota and Nurger, and attributed his comments to Marshall.

I remain skeptical of the veracity of that post.

Agree - with the poster's butchering the spelling of the new Shockers names I stopped reading and moved on to the next post.

We actually did have a very similar player to Wragge on our roster, though. It wasn't Kentombush Wamukota. It was Derail Green.

Could be -- the only guy's name he spelled correctly was Wragge. He was 0-3 on Shockers.
