The important thing is that there is an implied "with WSU" as part of that sentence... Since they do sometimes play games simply at those venues. It's the "with WSU" part that makes it not happen. And there is something to see here when you apply that context. It's nothing new, but it makes me laugh every time because it has to be secretly a little embarrassing :)

I think if you read between the lines what's being said is that KU/KSU are receptive to playing the Shocks, as long as its a 3 for 1 on their home court. They won't consider anything equitable.

So they'd play at CKA, just not on any sort of equal footing? Or they don't want to play at all?

In either case, WSU isn't going away any time soon, and has already surpassed KSU, which means that lots of national pundits are going to continue to wonder why the self-defined big boys don't play the Shocks. And the mealy-mouthed answers coming from Lawrence and the Little Apple, as compared to what Marshall and WSU have to say, will continue to be embarrassing and a source of laughter around the country.
