Saw on his twitter that he worked out with the Sixers today. I thiink this is is 3rd NBA workout. Great for him, hope he blossoms as a professional.

Those workouts, while not going to result in a draft pick, these workouts are INVALUABLE because the teams will tell the player exactly what he needs to work on and what to do to improve.

They also get "ins" for gigs overseas which is a GREAT thing.

I hope he and Chadrack can latch on to a Summer League squad. I think that is what helped launch Murry to the D-League ... and eventually the Knickerbockers.

The fact that there are a number of Shockers playing overseas signifies that WSU is turning out significant numbers of players who are well coached, athletic, and have very good BB skills can't go un-noticed by overseas scouts searching for quality players.

        Best of luck, Nick.

And if I'm not mistaken we've had a few separate players play for teams that previous Shockers played on. For example Joey Rags and Orukpe both played for the same Spanish league team, but EO the year after JR was there.. Which I would think points to the fact that these organization see consistenency and coachability in Shockers. European basketball isn't street ball, and if you can't play team basketball, don't look to be playing many minutes unless you're like a previous NBA star over there in the twilight of your career, ala Allen Iverson.

I have often wondered how you become a Globetrotter.

Who did the Washington Generals draft? I've always thought that the Generals were just a draft pick away from making some noise.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

The Reds defeated the Globetrotters 100-99 on January 5, 1971 in Martin, Tennessee. It ended a 2,495-game winning streak. Klotz credits the overtime win to a guard named Eddie Mahar, who was team captain. Harlem's captain, Curly Neal, did not play in this game.

While the Globetrotters were entertaining the crowd that day, they lost track of the game and the score. They found themselves down 12 points with two minutes left to go. Forced to play normal basketball, the Globetrotters rallied but could not recover.

The Reds secured their victory when Klotz hit the winning basket with seconds left. Then Meadowlark Lemon missed a shot that would have given the game back to the Globetrotters. The timekeeper tried to stop the clock and couldn't. When the final buzzer sounded, the crowd was dumbfounded and disappointed. Klotz described the fans' reaction: "They looked at us like we killed Santa Claus."

Some children in the stands cried after the loss. The Reds celebrated by dousing themselves with orange soda instead of champagne. Lemon was furious, saying, "You lost, I didn't lose," but still visited the opposing team’s locker room to congratulate the Reds.

Interesting ploy by the Trotters: the "brother" draft.
