Ran into Ron and Evan at dinner tonight and they seemed to have a nice rotation of coeds in tow. Those are living legends in this city, and it couldn't happen to 2 better young men.
To me, the obvious choices for major minutes are the Big Three plus Carter, who should probably account for around 110 minutes a game among themselves. As for the new guys, Morris (based on his redshirt experience, size, and position) plus Nurger, Kelly, and Brown with their high level experience, should all be able to average at least 10-15+ minutes a game.
That only leaves about 50 minutes or so, and quite likely less, to divide up among six of the current fourteen. Of course, one will also presumably take care of himself in some way, especially following Marshall's amusing comment that he believes he has a plan to get down to 13 players. But that still leaves not much time for five guys to share. So I'll guess two redshirts, one of who could easily be Wamukota if Nurger is indeed ready (and, yes, I know about Marshall's history when it comes to redshirting jucos -- but Wamukota is a less finished product than most jucos, and Marshall has never had this many good players before, including someone like Nurger coming out of nowhere to play the same spot).
Bottom line is that when you have anchors like WSU does coming back, it's easy to add up the required 200 minutes / game using just eleven guys -- and that's even with no one averaging as many as 30 minutes / game and some of the new guys like Henderson (behind FVV) and Holland (at both guard spots), who play WSU's strongest positions, averaging just 5-10. So I don't expect to see all 13 scholarship players, whoever they turn out to be, on the court this year.

So are u saying they have been working on their rotation?

SG ~ Ron
3 spot ~ Tekele
4 spot ~ Shaq
5 spot ~ Darius
Then bring in Nurger and Bush every 5-7 minute to spell Darius. Shaq at the 4 would be sic!!!! I don't see how people would score against that line-up. I really don't.

The advantage to Darius and Shaq playing at the same time is that they are interchangeable in a lot of ways. On offense, they can both play either position, and flash away from the basket while the other posts up. On defense, Darius probably guards the 4, especially if it is a small 4/wing type (as the Valley often uses) of player who has to be chased around the perimeter. Maybe Shaq can do the chasing but Darius has proven capable of it.

The only problem with our 4 spot is that we don't have anyone that can really stretch the D like Cle (except Hamilton who doesn't figure into my rotation as a freshman). Also, if we played Shaq and DC together, you can bet that DC would get the opponents 4 on D and that, when on offense, the opponents 5 would take Shaq. This would effectively make Shaq the 5 and DC the 4. Shaq is only a 4 if he plays with Nurger or Bush. And DC is only a five if he plays with Hamilton, Glass, or Kelly.

It's really entertaining to read your post if I imagine you as Bennett Brauer.
Here's the deal. FSF has his fearless early predicted starting 5 to start the Season. No, I have not seen any scrimmages yet, but here goes anywho.
1. FVV 2. Baker 3. Cotton 4. Carter 5. Bush W.
With that said, it is the 2nd 5 that I am struggling with so early and no witnessed scrimmages under my belt. However, let me process what I see and hear this summer, and my free but plentiful opinions should flow like a raging river.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

The obvious is Fred at point, Ron at the two and Mr. Cotton at the three. Darius and Shaq at the four and five. I think there is alot of depth at the four and five, albeit is raw except for Darius. I look for the juco guys to play alot, Coach usually works the juco studs in pretty quickley, WSU has a good track record with juco-all americans, and high profile juco players, like getting a 4-star, 5-star high school player with college experience. going to be a great year and with a challenging schedual should be alot of fun, I'm stoked....
