    Stud.

I'd just like to point out that the eventual winner was able to increase his year over year total blocks for the season by 250%!! He got 5. Unfortunately he was unable to improve his steals count, as he broke even with 8 versus 8 the prior season. But how can you argue with a 250% increase? Kidding aside, McD had a killer career FG%, 3pt FG%, and FT percent. Shooting machine.

You really do have to admire a guy who can be so good at a one dimensional game that he still gets awards like he does. He is actually so good offensively that no one cares how lopsided his stats are. He is a special player.

In a way, it still is. Pointing out that Cle absolutely owns the guy who got the top vote in an indirect way isn't too far off topic.

Sometimes a player is what the coach wants him to be (a scorer) or what he wants to be himself. The points per game of the above players is what drives most of this voting, IMHO.

As for myself, the order of these players would be Parker, Early, McDermott, Johnson, and Smith. Parker, Early, and Johnson are complete players. They can do it all.

McDermott gets the nod over Johnson because he is such an offensive machine and rebounds very well, even if his some of his other numbers are weak for a 6'8" 4/5. In the pros, he may be able to hide those weaknesses.

I guess I'm just not a Russ Smith fan. Many of his numbers suck compared to the other 4 on this list. I'd honestly take Early, Baker, or FVV over Smith. He turns the ball over too much, fouls too much, and his %s are pretty run of the mill, except for his scoring average, which has nothing to do with his scoring %s like McDermott's. Smith takes 3-4 more shots per game than Early, yet averages less than 2 more points per game. Smith ended his college career with a .413 FG% over 4 seasons.

Did you watch Parker play? Sure, he has lots of tools, but his primary defensive stance was in a chair with some popcorn watching his teammates try to defend 5 guys.

No one on Duke played any defense this year. It was so bad that Andre Dawkins, who is known as an all offense no defense player, would have to come in and guard the other teams best perimeter player.
