Surely there are dozens of jobs not listed that exceed this amount. I assume the top of the list is good, but somewhere along the way it seems a bunch of coaches are missing.
There are 68 coaches listed. It doesn't say anywhere on the page, but it's only a ranking of coaches that made the tournament.

Yes it is. And there are a lot of holes in this report. What is reported and what really is are two very different things. I'm sure some universities have become very creative in how their coaches are paid. There is no way Pastner is making more money than Lil Roy and Boeheim. Book it.

Preemptive Edit: I have no facts, this is opinion.

Except he does...we pay him 2.65 million and that's not even our max.

Gotta say, it's tough seeing a good mid major program like Creighton so far down on the list, not even cracking the 7-digit mark.
              Deuces Valley.
              ... No really, deuces.

Aren't there quite a few private institutions that don't report salaries because its a private school and they don't have to?

My statement was not aimed at "belittling" Memphis, but to say UNC and SU are going to pay their coach as much as similar institutions like Kansas, Ohio St, Michigan St, and so forth. Syracuse being private has advantages of not sharing complete information. UNC has probably figured out some creative ways of paying Lil Roy comparable to his piers of which Pastner is not yet one of.

Again, nothing against Memphis, as I don't care how much more you can pay him. Good for you. This is his first head coaching gig and he's doing well. However, I might note that there are a fair number of coaches below him on that list that have done even more for their school's program for, what appears to be, a lot less money.

I know our mega-boosters pay his salary...guys like Fred Smith, Alan Graf, and Dean Jernigan are footing the bill so if they're happy, we're happy.

His base pay is only 150k...they cover everything else.
