Here's the list of players that made the Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team: Marcus Lee, Kentucky; Aaron Harrison, Kentucky; Julius Randle, Kentucky Caris LeVert, Michigan; Nik Stauskas, Michigan.

Not having Cleanthony on that list is a *** **** shame. I know that usually these teams mostly just select players from the two Elite 8 teams, but no player in the regional (or in the tournament) played better than Early. Hell, Early scored 31 points just against UK, while Lee scored 10 in the entire regional.

Yeah thats some BS that Lee had one breakout game, +10 pts and all region team while Cle was the best player on the court for the best game in the region and gets snubbed.

BUT FORGIVE ME, WSU JUST ISN'T ATHLETIC.

I mean. That dunk. That just. That dunk.

On the other hand. That pass. It's. That pass.

Sad the dunk is gone. Stoked the pass returns. Oh and the steal.

Cotton's dunk was still the best of the year. Early's is incredible in it's own right, given the way he had to catch the ball at full speed, and hammer it while off-balance and being fouled by a 7-footer.

Well, there's one on that list I would immediately eliminate because of his b*ll*hit antics. Congratulations to Tekele!!

Yeah, you would think a really Smart player would not have to resort such antics.

Personally, I think this little ole, mid-major school with no #BigBoyBasketball players had the #1 and #2 dunks for year.

For all those wondering, I believe the Midwest Region All Tournament Team was only for players who made the regional, meaning Sweet 16 participants. If I'm right, Early wasn't eligible.

Is this news? Espn reports Cle one of five finalists for the Wooden award. Hadn't seen that anywhere.

Funny. As sucky as the mvc is two of the five Wooden finalist from the Valley.

Yeah. I know. But Creighton leaving really hosed us. That would have been something.

McDermott won it on Friday. Early did finish fourth in voting.

McDermott received 3,930 points, outdistancing Duke’s Parker, who had 2,569 points. Rounding out the top 10 in order were Smith of Louisville (2,228), Early of Wichita State (1,907), Arizona’s Johnson (1,758), Shabazz Napier of Connecticut (1,615), Andrew Wiggins of Kansas (1,555), Michigan’s Nik Stauskas (1,283), Florida’s Casey Prather (1,037) and Sean Kilpatrick of Cincinnati (987). All of the top 10 vote-getters earned Wooden All American status for 2014.
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

4th in the nation, 2nd in the Valley.

I wonder where Fred would've finished if he had replaced Early as a finalist.

collegeinsider.com Coach of the Year Awards

Coach Marshall was a finalist for the Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Award but he did not win. The award went to IPFW's Tony Jasick. This award is given annually to the top MM coach. HCGM probably demanded his name be removed from consideration :courage:

On the other hand, CollegInsiders.com appears to give out various Coach of the Year awards and unsurprisingly, HCGM received the John McLendon Coach of the Year Award. This award is presented to the top collegiate coach regardless of their classification (Division I, Division II, Division III, NAIA or JUCO).

Edited to include Tim Miles of Nebraska as the winner of collegeinsiders.com Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year Award which is presented to the top Division I coach each year. Coach Marshall is also listed as a finalist for this award.
