I've always liked Coach K as well, however, he dropped that "classy" appearance, and knew it, with his statement the other day.

On Saturday, after Duke beat North Carolina State in the ACC semifinals, Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewksi said he thought the Wolfpack deserved an at-large berth, even ahead of an A-10 team.

''I'll get in trouble probably for saying it. (I) like the Atlantic 10, they're a really good conference,'' Coach K said. ''I hear people saying there are six teams in there. Come on. I mean, they're good, but put them in our conference and go through the meat grinder that our conference has to go through.''


It's fine to build up your own conference and push for more teams to get in, but not to say at who's expense directly. Now, the lowest A-10 seed beat Ohio St, A-10 St Louis knocks out ACC NC St, and ACC Duke gets knocked out in the R64 by 14 seed Mercer.

He's generally a nice dude. But his BCS/elitist mentality makes him sound like a sour puss at times. Example, before the game, at halftime and at the end of the game he mentioned over and over how 'old' Mercer was and they were men playing boys. Boohooo Coach K, you made your bed by recruiting one-and-done players, so sleep in it. If you think it's an advantage of having junior and senior dominant lineups, then stop recruiting one-and-done players.

Coach K was never complaining today. Only had praise. Now, if he had been whining that the reason they lost was an unfair advantage of having older players, then fine. But, he was praising them for it.
