  • Sorry if this has been said earlier, but Evansville beat Mercer by 11 this year.

    • I was rooting for Mercer all this year over Florida Gulf Coast because I knew they were actually the better team despite Florida Gulf Coast making sweet 16 last year. 5 starting seniors the only team in the dance with 5 starting seniors when they lost earlier this year at home to North Florida when they had a chance to clinch home court for their conf touney forcing them to have to win on the road at Florida Gulf Coast in the A-Sun tourney and this is why I was rooting for them I had a feeling they had a chance they could do this but when I seen it come up Duke I was like of all teams to play knew it be tough. 14 point spread on this game knew that was likely too much and this would be a close one.

      • I grin pops on my face when I think back to the comments Coach K made about the A-10 getting so many teams in the dance and then the little guy knocks his ass out of the dance.

You don't get credit unless you post it before the game! LOL

So what are your predictions for the rest of the games today?

How's Mercer -6.5 sound, a little more fair?

              • Mercer looked like the better team.

One rule question though. On the and-one play where the Mercer guard made a great pass diagonally from the top of the lane to the big white guy down low on the other side of the lane for basket and a foul, I noticed the big guy grabbed the rim and pulled it down before the shot actually went into the basket. Was nothing called there because he was fouled or was that technically offensive goal tending?

I said I thought it be close...this is why I don't do the brackets anymore I did them for 25 years and quit a few years ago I got sick of having to decide do I root for the teams I want to win or my bracket....2008 was the last straw when I needed Kansas to make the final 4 to bead Davidson I always remember being torn I wanted Davidson to win the game and I would never ever have even thought about rooting for Kansas if not for the stupid bracket. Then Memphis chocked anyway and I lost the bracket so I stopped.

All I do now is follow all the top teams from all the smaller conferences just so they have a chance to pull an upset.

That is why it is so disappointing to see teams like Davidson, Toledo, Georgia State, Vermont, Robert Morris, UC Irvine, Cal Santa Barbara, La-Tech, Green Bay, Belmont and Iona teams not make it because you could have had amazing 15 and 16 seeds imagine Davidson as a 16 seed!

I knew ND State had a real chance to win with Taylor Braun, Alexander and TreyVonn Wright...we all knew Harvard could win.....we just never know if they will win we think they can we feel they will but it still has to happen.

NC Central has a very bad match up but this team can play they beat NC State this year. They few one of the worst possible match ups in Iowa State though. Looking forward to see what they can do.

SF Austin should be interesting but drew a tough VCU team.

                            • The Region of Death, after nearly taking down Louisville gets its first kill with Duke. I don't think this is what the "experts" had in mind.

                              • 10-2 lead for Weber State went by the boards quick.......we will ever see a 16 over a 1 in our lifetime ?

If only Princeton 25 years ago would have hit that final shot instead of Mourning blocking it that would have been the ultimate 16 over a 1.....if Western Carolina had hit that 3 pointer from 20 feet at the buzzer vs Purdue.......
