This crowd sounds very split and loud for both sides. I'm guessing that's because half the crowd is Duke fans and the other half is thinking, breathing, feeling human beings.

You and me both. From a strategic standpoint, I completely understand it though, and would have to agree that it's probably the smart thing to do with the way the rules are. But as a fan watching the game, especially without a strong rooting interest in either team, I absolutely hate it. Give me the excitement of a buzzer beater try!!

And also, just another annoyance in regards to listening to Gottlieb call games yesterday. I don't know how many times I heard him say what a smart play it is for a player to lean in and draw contact on a shot, yet he was pissed off in the NDSU-OU game when a foul was called with NDSU dribbling up the court in transition because "the ball handler initiated the contact". Granted, I know that it's in a different context, but somebody tell me how this is not the exact same thing he that was praising??

It's only a smart play when a BCS player does it. Otherwise it's someone "gaming" the system.
