I do not disagree whatsoever. That being said, a part, however big or small, of 3G's success has been continuity of staff, plan, program, etc. Losing the top two (50%) of staff within two months can hardly be desirable. But my trust in 3G leaves me confident that should that occur, he already has some plans in place. I do not expect 3G ever to be caught off-guard.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I think we are the same wave-length. I agree, its not good to lose that much that soon. My point was 1. Marshall knows what hes doing and will find a good fit. 2. Its no longer having to "talk someone into coming to coach at WSU", it's now "Which of the candidates that WANT to come here is the best fit". Different mindset.

      • I have the feeling that there a quite a few assistant coaches who might want to work for the National Coach of the year who just had two of his assistants get HC gigs.

No doubt about it. 3G's biggest problem will be sorting the plethora of apps and LOI's he gets from candidates.

Yes, if Marshall can pull off a coup and get an experienced assistant ala Moton or Tim Fuller, he can take a chance on a young recruiter with the final position.

"Would you say I have a plethora?"

"Jess, jess, you have a plethora."

                  • An example of a younger more inexperienced recruiter may be a Matt Brauer.

Yes, although Matt is a pretty inexperienced recruiter as well.

                      • So was Ford. But Matt is more likely to stick around while learning. Loyal to WSU, wife from area, and loyal to Gregg.

                          MU hires Kim Anderson.

Central Missouri coach Kim Anderson has reached an agreement to become the basketball coach at Missouri, the school announced.

That reality sandwich that you just hired a DII coach just because he's an alum, when you thought you were getting Gregg Marshall?

Couldn't have happened to a better fan base.

                              • Let's not get ahead of ourselves, guys. Heiar hasn't been heiared by USM yet, so there's only one spot to fill right now, and Marshall will handle it in due time.

Steve Eck, anyone? (Sorry; couldn't resist. I'd suggest him for Kim Anderson's staff, but the UM system may still be a little wary of Eck.)
