No...no...noooooo!!! I'm NOT meaning that at all. The point I'm making is IF Marshall was at say a Missouri with Fred, Tekele, Ron and a few others over the last couple years....I'm 98% sure that an athletic big future NBA'er in the 6'-10" to 7'-0" range would HAPPILY sign on to play with Marshall and that group of players!!!! No doubt in my mind. It's just those type of BIGS like the lights of the BCS conferences cuz their on tv everywhere and such. Coleby and Lufile were VERY servicable players....but imagine our current squad with a future NBA center on it. Oh ****!!! :)

Now, how realistic is that? My initial reaction is not very. What I am curious about at this point, though, is it typical Marshall fashion to stay so mum for so long when his name is being bantied about? That is the one thing that has had made me curious about the possibility. I would have expected, after a day or two, a public statement indicating he's not considering the Mizzou position. Thanks for your insight.

As for the SEC, it is certainly down. It's joked about among the SEC fans I speak with. I won't get into a long dissertation about it now as I don't think it's the forum for it, but I do think with relatively new hires at a number of schools, the SEC will improve (not be the best, but improve) in time.

Many thanks and let the roast being.

Pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics, regained pulse on the way to the hospital, and a full recovery. So says snopes or some such.

That would be truly amazing to survive that. One might say miraculous. Sorry for the thread hijack. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The university in West Virginia, not our head coach.

                          • I read somewhere that Underwood is top choice for Southern Miss. If he doesn't take it Greg Heiar and another are probable. Sorry, can't remember the other name.

If Underwood is the top choice for Southern Miss than my guess is that is a deal that will get done. Of course, SFA could then come knocking on Greg Heiar's door. Almost an endless loop although it has to end sometime.

The common belief is that he contacted and is on Missouri's list. With whatever went down at UCLA, and given Haith's baggage he brought with him from Miami, I'd guess that Howland is on the list but might not be the first option. I like him as a coach, but the potential baggage worries me as well.
