How many elite BCS #1 seeds have been dumped from the tournament before the Final Four, or Elite 8, or hell, Sweet 16?

I think our friends up north are familiar with the way this goes too.

WSU losing before the Final Four or Elite 8 doesn't mean the season was a failure and it also doesn't mean mid-majors suck or are garbage.

Unless you consider teams like Kansas to be garbage.

    ... No really, deuces.

I remember readin an article somewhere that listed that only 54% of all #1 seeds have reached the Final Four. since the tourney expanded to 64 teams

I've been thinking the exact same thing for a while.

And watching the game at Evansville a week ago and wondering if they are really only the #230 best basketball team in the country? I know many have talked about it, but being in a BCS conference does assist the RPI. So TCU is even worse than their RPI!

It would be great to make a couple of CWS appearances also! Really get the name out there and let people who don't know that WSU has great athletic programs (just need a new conference)

It may have been 47 out of 104 since the expansion to 64. One of the articles complimenting the SHOX from the media love thread.

                  2013-1985 + 1 = 29 years * 4 number one seeds = 116
47/116= 40.5% who made it to final 4.

My guess is he's taking into account our weaker schedule, which is realistic when compared to other #1's that would have a stronger schedule. You gotta admit, if we were undefeated and had played say 15 top 50 teams it would be a more impressive and stronger argument that WU advances farther.

I almost pity the first BCS team we play in the tourney.

Its gonna be ugly. I think we will freaking destroy them.

They have a chance for damage control @ VCU on sat.

Yep. If they win at VCU, they will hardly drop. If they lose, it will be a free fall.

On the other hand, last night a bunch of teams gunning for their spot lost too
