Yeah, I'm down with that...WSU would be a great compliment to Navy football only. (esp with Louisville leaving)
Preaching to the choir, my man. Now just convince your conference mates :D

Navy joins 2015 and as an Indy could back out at any time before that..I think once they are in the conference, playing games, the AAC will become open to adding a non-football member.

I can't see Shocker fans being happy in the A10. There are alot of programs in that conference that have no basketball history and play in 3,000-5,000 seat arenas. We'd be better off staying where we're at and playing Drake eight times a season; at least we'd save alot of money on travel that way. I think everyone expects SLU to move to the BE sooner rather than later. There are rumors of UMass and the AAC sideling up to each other, which would allow UMass to bring their entire athletic department into one conference. If that happens, the A10 may be no better than the MVC.

Note, that would reunite 5 former MVC members.

Not just for Basketball, but for all Men's and Women's sports, the AAC would be my first choice.

That's my point though. Whether or not the total cost is a slight positive or slight negative, the economic difference between the A10 and the MVC is slim if it exists at all.

I think we're sorta arguing past each other.

Neither one of us is gung ho about joining the A-10 and we can both agree that travel costs are mostly a non-issue re: joining another league.

Why can't Congress do what we just did?

Because of what you just said, now CCB will demand more concessions.

Whatever you think of joining the A10 vs other conferences like the AAC (and the AAC looks like the best fit at this point in my book), the best takeway from this is the fact that there is discussion about adding WSU to another conference that is coming not from our end, but from those affiliated with outside conferences.

It establishes that our success is having an impact on how those around the nation perceive WSU's value as a potential conference member and that is a very good thing.

I think I come down as a no on the A-10 for the reasons people are saying. If we knew they were stable it would be a very different question and I would be happy to join. But losing SLU would be a huge hit for WSU let alone for the league. AAC, MWC or bust is where I'm at right now, though the re-alignment picture is changing all the time.

Yep, more years of the Valley of mediocrity. Hate to say it but it is an extremely remote possibility that the AAC or MWC add a non- football school. That's the way it is for a public, non- football school in fly-over country.

Thank you. The stark reality is that is a football driven conference. They will not be looking at us. If they did, it would have already been announced.

The AAC wants Navy to actually join before they consider anything...come 2015-2016 the AAC may be willing...but not yet.
