That's kinda what I'm thinking myself. However, what Cle needs to do to make this happen is to concentrate on his defense and rebounding, run the floor like a banshee and just let the offense flow. Use the Force, Cle! Use the Force!

I just love reading these opposing message boards for their Super Bowls EVERY time we go on the road. It's the same thing, repeated 9 times over. "Oh we can do it." "It's our time" "We really need the crowd to push the Braves over the top" "This team can do it", etc, etc. They completely ignore everything, past results, WSU's side of things and just start going crazy. They're fans, of course, so I guess it's expected. But it's just funny how any sort of reality or rational thought is thrown out the window every time WSU steps into an opposing venue.

Oh well. Super Bowl iX here we come.

The thing is -- any team, any game, any night. You just never know. Officiating comes into play, we have an off night shooting (to have everyone have an off night with as many weapons as we have is a bit of a stretch, but stranger things have happened), they are on with one of their reserves coming in and torching us. Is it likely -- no. But it could happen -- maybe a hundred to one shot.

Olbermann just named the Bradley mascot one of the worst persons in the sports world tonight. He showed a picture of their ugly, scary mascot named Kaboom. He then showed some film of the mascot trying to dance or something. After it got done Olbermann said they should have blown it up- Kaboom! He said that Bradley got ripped off for spending a lot of money and doing 2 years of surveys to come up with this horrible mascot.

He then went into a plug of our game tomorrow night on espn2 at 8. He said you need to tune in tomorrow even if you don't like basketball just to see the debut of the horrific Bradley mascot.

Yeah. Reality and rational thought never get thrown out the window on this board. Isn't that the point of these things? Expecting the Shox to win the National Championship is not rational. Yet I seem to see a lot of that around here. I'm hoping for another good run in the tourney. If the Shox win it all I'll be deliriously happy. It's irrational for a fan of any school to expect a national championship in a one and done tournament like that. It's match ups, luck, playing well at the right time, officiating not screwing you in a close game. So many little things can end your season, like a bogus double foul call and a ridiculous jump ball call in the closing seconds by the great Karl Hess. Season over.
I'm convinced the best team we played in the tourney last year was Gonzaga. It took probably the greatest 5 minutes of basketball in Shocker history for us to beat them. Gonzaga was immediately labeled chokers and an overrated mid-major unworthy of a #1 seed. They actually played great that game. They just ran into a team that played even better. It could just as easily happen to us this year.
