  • WSU VERSUS DRAKE PREDICTIONS AND PREGAME DISCUSSIONS

Here's the deal. Isn't life grand as a Shocker fan? Maybe now after making the cover of Sports Illustrated, now our beloved rock stars will make the cover of the Rolling Stone? MUHAHA!!! Meanwhile, back at 21st and Hillside, we hear the rumblings of our cynics croaking out fowl excuses, sounding like a bullfrog in a hailstorm. Waaaaa!!! What would have Lawrence Welk thought back in the day about these Shocks as he popped the cork of a bubbly cheery cheer drink? Maybe this? " A one and a two and a 29er, etc. and wunnerful, wunnerful, wunnerful." Even so, our dedicated Shocks have to buswax with bulldawgs down here at the Chuck and it is too early to celebrate with the task at hand. Since bulldawgs need restrictions, a short leash, and guidance, our Defense will be strict and stingy as the Marshall Law guidelines can be. #11-Early won't be late with his 11 rebounds and heaven forbid, but FVV may actually miss a shot or 2 this time but not many as he dishes out 11 assists. Baker will be the maker of 22 points, and Cotton will steal the dawgs blind with defense.

I was going to put my prediction in former coach language, and while checking to make sure I was not butchering Maury John's name, I discovered that the former Bulldog and Cyclone coach died at the early age of 55 of cancer. A seemingly outstanding career cut short. So I'll not honor his name with a loss.

        Instead:

Thrilled that I get to fly in Saturday morning to catch this one in person. I think our defense reasserts itself this weekend.

Wessel shot 50% from the arc last night.

Yeah, I saw that too. And, based on last year's average before he was injured, that's almost his season average. Which means, oh, what the heck, it doesn't mean anything except that he finally got that monkey off his back. I predict he'll hit a few more before the end of the regular season.

As much as I would really like to see the Shox pound the Dawgs Saturday, I think it's a win but less than a 14-point spread. Dawgs will keep it close but Shox will prevail to clinch the Valley.

                Comparative Stats from StatSheet

"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

keep your guard up. jab your way in- jab your way out. or: only small minds look for a home run on every pitch.

I remember too many long grinding nights against the Bulldogs. I know it is a new era, but it is just not in the Shocker's pattern to put too many people away. Very similar result to all of the other Valley games

It will be a feel good day. Drake will hang for 11 minutes, then the Shox pull away big. We beat them by 17 the first go around, we'll win by 27 this time around. It would be worse, but GM pulls the starts out one by one as they are showered with applause and cheers as we secure the regular season championship outright.

Taking my 6-year old grandson to his 1st game this year. His 1st Shocker game since he started playing YMCA league ball. Will probably miss the pre-game show as we will be working on the War Chant on our way to the game.

This is my first game I will be attending since Marshall became coach.

If we lose, I will be okay with forever banning myself from any game ever again.
