The Shockers 4 regular espn2 telecasts (not including the midnight game) have averaged 500,000 viewers. When you throw in the WKU midnight game and the 2 games on espnU (the Shocks have averaged 225,000 on the U, which is very good for that network) the Shocks have totaled 2.7 million viewers for their 7 games on espn2/espnU.

Just for comparison, Creighton has drawn a total of 1.3 million viewers for their 15 games on FS1/FS2, for an average of 86,870 viewers per game.

And the A-10 games on NBCsn usually draw between 40,000 and 65,000 viewers per game. I know the A-10 has had a lot of games on NBCsn, but the Shockers in just their 7 games on espn2/espnU may have outdrawn the entire A-10 conference on NBCsn (I am not sure, because I haven't taken the time to add up all of the games but it wouldn't surprise me, some of the live A10 games have drawn fewer than 30,000 viewers).

That is correct. All of the WSU games on espn2 have done very well. There are about 140 to 150 shows per week on espn2, and the worst WSU did was the Indy St game in Wichita that was a blow out (18th best rated show on espn2 that week): WSU-Tennessee game was 5th best rated show for that week, WSU-BYU game was 9th best for that week, and the WSU at Northern Iowa game was 2nd for that week. The 2 games on espnU finished 5th (UE at WSU) and 9th (WSU at Alabama) for their respective weeks on espnU.

Boy was I right. I found 15 live A-10 telecasts on NBCsn between Dec. 23 and Feb. 9. The total viewership for all 15 games was just 846,000 or 56,400 per game. WSU has drawn more than triple the viewership on just the 7 WSU games that have been on espn2/espnU than the entire A-10 conference has drawn on NBCsn.

I also found three CAA telecasts on NBCsn and they have done even worse. A total of just 58,000 viewers for an average of just 19,330 per game. I think the MVC was smart not to go with NBCsn and to stick with espn.

As bad as those Atlantic 10 numbers are, those CAA numbers are ridiculously low. Can you really call it a national TV game if only 17,000 people watch your game?

            Thoughts?
Or, they might be ready to GTFO out of Peoria. Could go either way.

I'm sure they will come out hype, but at the first sign of trouble they will be broken into submisison.

Does WSU or the MVC get any more TV monies when they move our game from Espn3 to Espn2 or U?

The WSU-Bradley game ended up drawing 620,000 viewers making it the second highest rated show on espn2 that week. Moving the Bradley game from espn3 to espn2 proved to me a very good move. The WSU-MoSt game on Saturday afternoon 3/1 at 1 pm ended up getting 1,144,000 viewers making it the 11th highest viewed show on espn that week (out of about 150 shows). Those two games alone drew about as many viewers as all of the Cu games combined on FS1 and FS2. http://sonofthebronx.blogspot.com/20...s-ratings.html

Maybe 'one' of the reasons we're playing on CBS "Prime Time" Friday night.
