Looking at Tennessee (quite possibly our best resume win outside of SLU) and their remaining schedule, we really could use a win over Florida tonight. If they can do that there might be a chance for them to run the rest of their schedule with wins and finish the season 23-8 (14-4) which would be a nice boost a give us a decent amount of weight come tournament time.

I don't trust Tennessee one bit though. Not even at home.

Tennessee is not playing to help us, they are playing and trying to win to help themselves. They want to get to the Dance and hopefully with a decent seed, just like we do. Will it help us if they win -- of course. But it will help them more.

Tennessee has been frustrating this year. The computers love them because they're 2-7 in games decided by 10 points or less. Their overall winning record means they've got 13 double digit wins and only 1 double digit loss. Some of that is bad luck but most of it is just letting inferior teams hang around for too long.

When doing an analysis on Tennessee, just switch out the word "Tennessee" with "Cuonzo". That gives me better insight into whether I think they can pull it off. So for example in @Cdizzle:'s post below, which seems reasonable, I make the switch from:

And now it seems even less likely. Not that Cuonzo is a bad coach, but we are talkin' 'bout Billy Donovan @ Florida.
