Shockers would have beaten Michigan, Iowa, Oklahoma and Kansas at home - double digit wins in each game

Now for the three loses of which you posted; Shocker defense would give them tough victories over Oklahoma and Kansas (just as SDSU won at Phog land)

As another Shocker fan has posted, if the Texas Cheerleaders are banned from the court area, the Shockers would take Texas; but if the Cheerleaders are permitted to sit beneath the Shocker goals, well that could alter the outcome of the game. So IMO the worst record for the Shockers would be 6-1; but as I am a betting man, I would take the Shockers to run that table as well as they have run the table this year.

See you in Dallas! Or Lawrence if you want to meet at your house - lol!!
How do you know the Shocks would have beat those teams here at home? Have you watched any of those teams play?

I despise KU with every fiber of my being and an intense passion. I graduated from WSU. I was there when Cooper/Guffrovich/Claudius beat Alabama (Sprewell/Horry/Cheatum/etc.) and OSU in the same week back in the day. I've been following the Shockers since I was a boy and Cheese Johnson/Robert Elmore were on the team.

But like I said, I'm also a realist. If you want to dream that WSU is the best team in America, then go ahead. I've actually watched other teams play this year other than WSU, and the Shockers aren't better than Duke (whom I also hate), Kansas, Syracuse, Arizona, or San Diego State...maybe a few others. Could WSU beat them on a given night? Of course. But if WSU was playing the type of schedule KU has to play, they would probably have about 10 losses.

So...are you saying a fan can't love a team while at the same time admitting that they'd lose against certain Top 25 teams?

No. And I've watched as much basketball as anyone in the country. Don't feed me that BS.

10 losses? Really? I live in Omaha, have Creighton season tix and believe I'm somewhat a realist. Playing that schedule, the Shockers are not undefeated, but they have 2-5 losses, max.

10 losses would not be predicted by a realist.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I've watched em all play many times, and they are all very good teams. I'd put the over/under at 4 wins for that schedule. Going 4-3 against that schedule says we are a top 10 team, which we are. Thankfully, we will have the opportunity to play in March and see exactly where we stand.

Yes, that is not a "Fan" of the program. Fan's are not realist.

I would disagree with that, fans can be realists, but fans wouldn't look at a team like the current Shockers and say they'd lose 10. Predicting those 10 losses is stating that your team is a "decent" team for being a "mid major" while at the same time saying they'd lose to any team that is worth a ****.

I hate to be sitting here in Omaha and pull a fever, or more appropriately, a "fev" but his post screams of troll.

Sounds like you are buying into some of the national doubters. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get up for inferior teams twice a week? I could be wrong but I say the shocks have another gear we haven't shifted into yet because we haven't had to. All the teams you talk about have weaknesses (more than we do IMO.). I'll take our coaching staff over anyone's.

                    Time will tell.

As a "realist" you should know that

                      A) You DONT know who is a better team. A realist is someone who knows the truth. You dont. I dont. @WuDrWu: dont. The only ones who know the truth are the 28 players who suit up and put it on the line on the court. The only way ANY team earns it is when it is on the line in March.

                      B) Any team can beat anyone on any given day. That doesnt make any team better or worse than another. It just means someone had a bad day.

                      C) you saying WSU would lose 10 is WORSE than a WSU fan saying they would win them all.

                      D) WSU is one of two of the best teams in America. Every team has had the opportunity to show they are the best. 14 weeks in all but two have been beaten by a better team on that day. Those two have shown they are better than every team they have played. If a team is the best, they shouldnt lose. If they do, then they arent as good as people think they are.

I do not "know the Shockers will win those games" but as a Shocker fan since 1961 - I just happen to believe they would win those games.

Unlike you I do not despise the JayHawks but I recognize that they struggle against every team they play that has excellent guards and plays an overall excellent defense, which leads me to believe the Shockers would beat them at Phogland just like the Aztecs did.

I too have watched all of these teams play, many of them several times this season; but unlike you I do not believe that Duke, KU, Syracuse, Arizona and San Diego are better teams than the Shockers. But I too am a realist so I recognize than on any given night any opponent the Shockers face could beat them. But I also realize that the Shockers are a well coached team of unselfish players who know how to play to win; so I think I will side with the Shockers!

Thank you...that's what I initially wrote, at least 3 losses out of those 7.

You are going out of your way to dismiss WSU as just being a midmajor that can't compete with the big boys.

Unbiased Kenpom rankings on each team:
                            Wichita State 10
                            Iowa 9
                            Kansas 8
                            Oklahoma 38
                            Michigan 15
                            Texas 37

                            LMRC:
                            Wichita State 13
                            Iowa 4
                            Kansas 5
                            Oklahoma 26
                            Michigan 17
                            Texas 37

We are simply a far better team than Texas or Oklahoma. We are better than Michigan. We are comparable to Kansas and Iowa.

We would be favored to win most of those games at home. I'd say we lose 3 of that group, maybe 2.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely we'd go 0-8 against several teams we are considerably better than, and several that are comparable? No. We've played better opponents on the road than Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas.
