Thought this was cool, Ron has made a 3 in every game this season and in 38 of the 42 games he has played as a shocker. 25 straight dating back to the Louisville game. He didn't make a 3 in Cancun last year against DePaul or Iowa and the other two games were Ohio St. and Pitt. He's also 39-3 as a shocker. Ridiculous record there.

And the reason he didn't make a three against Pitt was that the baskets for that game had special sensors and lids that closed whenever anyone shot a three. So he was 0-5 in that game (Cle was 0-6, by the way), but the team as a whole was just 2-20 -- which was nevertheless better than Pittsburgh's 1-17 on threes.
Silly edit: based on the original post in this thread, WSU is therefore 4-0 when Baker doesn't make a three, vs. a mere 35-3 when he does. Would some extreme stat nerd care to draw the conclusion that WSU is therefore slightly better off when Baker doesn't make a three? (Or are our nerds sophisticated enough to realize that correlation does not equal causation?)Last edited by WSUwatcher; February 7, 2014, 12:38 AM.
