First, we took all eighty players and ranked them 75-100. Stallworth and McDaniel were 100's; Littleton, Armstrong, Carr, Levingston, were 98's etc...

The next step was/is to create the players psychical attributes and appearance, and then rate each player's 31 game attributes from 1-100. Close shooting, Three Point Shooting, Free Throws, Layups, Dunking, Offensive Rebounding, Low Post Offensive, Clutch, Hustle, Stealing, etc...

I have teams 1-10 created and I'm working to finish the last six teams some time this week. We will do a test run out at Side Pockets next weekend to see how it looks and feels on the big screen.

I have been simming games for the last couple of weeks, trying to see how realistic the players react to our rankings and tendencies we gave them. For instance, Sean O'Girri takes a lot of three point shots and rarely drives. Jamar Howard rarely shoots from the outside, but likes to drive the lane and/or post up a lot, etc.....

I'm not sure if we will have streaming capabilities, but I believe Bob wants to put the video of each game on Kansas.com and write summaries of each game as we simulate them.

Figured I'd chime in- this is coming together pretty nicely, I believe. I hope people will make it out to Side Pockets- the plan is to have several former Shockers who are in the Invitational in attendance as well as a good crowd of Shocker fans. Derek, Bob, and I have tried to do our best to make it as realistic as possible, down to height/weight, hairstyles, etc. We welcome any questions/suggestions. Less than 3 weeks to tipoff!

Team 3 would get disqualified before the tournament even started. Ironic, as Toure Murry's place as one of the all time greats would again be diminished through no fault of his own.

Your line about Toure intrigued me...I guess I've never thought of him as one of the 'all time greats'...maybe I should rethink it!

Not sure what you're asking? You mean, like the roster and game files?

Are these going to uploaded/shared anywhere, so others could download them and also play with these teams on their own personal game systems after this tournament is over? That's a lot of work you are doing, sounds great.

I'm curious. Will you turn the fatigue factor off since apparently they'll be no bench? What happens if a player fouls out, or are you disabling that as well?

Great questions Fever- you're right on both fronts, no fatigue and no foul-outs. We briefly toyed with benches, but that sort of defeats the purpose.

Yeah, the College Hoops 2k series was/is my favorite sports video game franchise.

They quit making the series due to the lawsuits against the NCAA regarding the likeness of the players being used without compensation....

On a side note, does anyone remember the one year they made a college baseball game?? I loved that game, except they only had like 3 generic fields...
