  • Big Names on 2014-2015 Schedule?

Mike Kennedy today stated that three great college basketball schools have showed interested in playing WSU next year. No names were given, but the following hints were given:

    1. One team is from the New England area
    2. One team is in West Lafayette, IN
    3. One team is one of the most celebrated schools in history on the West Coast

Pretty sure I know 2 of the 3 teams. What are your guesses?

          1. boston college? (or uconn)
          2. purdue
          3. ucla?

two out of those three, say, wouldn't be bad at all. those are absolutely the type of teams that wichita state MUST successfully schedule. gonzaga has been doing it for years now (top ooc opponents every year). why not wichita state?

Alabama and Tennessee didn't hold their end of the bargain, but basically we have scheduled similar teams.

Purdue and UConn are known to be two of them as Gregg has mentioned them. UCLA is a very good guess by what has been said about the 3rd team.

                  We have heard those...

                  UCLA?

Would love UCLA. Stayed up late one night to watch the Shox play Lew Alcindor and Bruins wax the Shox way back in the 5th grade in 1967 or 68. Have been a TOTAL SHOX FAN ever since.

And throw in Kansas State. So what do Purdue, UCLA, KSU, and this years marquee game, Tenneessee have in common? All are coached by former MVC coaches.

                      UConn I was expecting already.

Who do we know for sure we have as noncon opponents next year? Saint Louis and Alabama at home, Detroit on the road ... is the Tulsa series still ongoing?

On a completely random note ... I think we end up in the AAC before Baker/Van Vleet graduate. Also ... am I crazy, or is the AAC set up to only have 11 basketball members next year?

Purdue and UConn were mentioned by HCGM on a coaches show. UCLA was mentioned by Kennedy on a Talk Angry podcast.
"It's amazing to watch Ron slide into that open area, Fred will find him and it's straight cash homie."--HCGM
