From the KWCH story:
"My game plan we've talked for four or five hours about what we wanna do, go to the game, stay home here and watch, try to go and get third row seats. As of now, it's up in the air," he said.
From his facebook:
"It's our duty to be there for our team, no matter the circumstances. Shockers Up. See you guys at the game."
Just seems to be some inconsistency in the thoughts. And calling the fans or even the Marketing Department out on a news station is just in bad taste. I just think the whole situation could have been been handled better and classier.
Regardless props to Miracle Signs for doing something out of the goodness of their heart. Longtime supporters of the Shockers to which I can always respect.

its one game, lets not be selfish...those seats belong to no one but Wichita State Athletics and technically maybe the only person to have a gripe is Charles Koch himself...we should all unite as a fan base, just vent today and be ready to cheer tommorow...GOSHOX

I stand by my original statement that you just gotta roll with the punches. Im cool with going to a message board to *****. But in the end, you either make something happen (and that sign is ****ing awesome) or you just chill.

I have a lot of thoughts running through my mind about all of this and will defer my initial thoughts so that I do not say anything I might regret.
See ya at the game (from row 24)!

This has all gotten unnecessarily way out of hand.
I too have comments on both ends but will keep them to myself. No need for this kind of hostility and anxiety before a big game.
The sign is AWESOME though, both to who created it and to who printed it out to become a reality.
Moving on..Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

My original point was that some people were acting like they were wronged like the Winklevoss twins. The reality of the situation is that the original idea in and of itself was "borrowed" from another fanbase and another player. Furthermore said sign was posted on a public message board in a section calling for ideas for signs that presumably would be used. Basically...get off the kids A$$!

Wow people, I leave SN for awhile and it goes bananas.
I didn't listen to any video and if he claimed credit he was wrong, totally.
That said, no one can complain about an idea being stolen that wasn't their idea in the first place.
By the way @Signman:, way to support the Shockers. If you get a little credit (and the company) for making the sign, so be it. I believe you made it with Shocker Nation in mind and thank you.

No hard feelings with Miracle Signs on this, please everyone remember that they were doing it to help a Shocker fan. Don't be upset at @Signman."I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. Originally posted by im4wsu View PostAs I recall reading the thread(s), someone posted after it was "created" that it would be great if someone printed a bunch of the signs and handed them out to students. The nextpost agreed with that. To a casual reader, that would be sort of implicit permission, maybe?
First, no one would have a problem if students showed up with that FredEx sign to the game. In fact, most of us were asking if not begging students to make this sign. That is the entire point of the thread! Most of us threw out ideas, some better than others, with the intent they be made into signs. Me personally, I would be thrilled if a student showed up with one of my ideas on a sign.
The real issue is that this fan, as dedicated and passionate as he is, acted like spoiled little ****, and then got his way. Instead of embracing the sign challenge and making something positive out of the situation, he contacted the local news and cried about on air, making us all look bad. In life when presented with a problem you can attack it and embrace the challenge or take a defeatists attitude and cry about it. He did the latter, and it wasn’t pretty. Furthermore, there was a veiled attempt to make this about the team and “superstition”, as if the team gives a **** where he sits. In reality it’s all about him and what he feels he is entitled to, nothing to do with what would be for the betterment of the athletic department, fellow fans, or the team.
Lastly, a fellow poster with the means to do so helped him out. It pissed people off to see someone get rewarded for this behavior and thus the backlash. The “idea” theft is just an easy thing to point at, when the behavior is the real issue.
Damn, I went on too long there. My apologies.βLet your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.β
