  • Lid on North-end basket?

Do the Shockers have 1st half woes?
Is there a lid on the north-end basket?
If there is a lid, does it affect both teams?
3G has said "at this end, I can help them out on offense (defense)" Does he help?

To that end, here are some 1st half vs second half stats for the Shockers:

At home, the Shox do indeed shoot better at the south end (2nd half).
Away from Koch, except for FT, we also shoot better the second half.
Since we are on offense in front of the Shocker bench in the second half, 3G's direction may enhance scoring.
Home vs Away stats are amazingly consistent.

Here are the corresponding stats for our opponents:

At Koch, opponents also shoot better at south end, except for FT
Away from Koch, opponents are also better in first half (fatigue?)
WSU is on defense in front of bench when opponents are shooting at south basket, so 3G may not be having effect on defensive performance.
Opponents shoot FT better in front of student section. Maybe silence would be golden!

Admittedly, this is extremely small sample. It is clear that both the Shocker offense and defense are better in the 2nd half, home or away.

Thanks for the analysis. Interesting data points.

I do think something is off with the FT%, at least for WSU. All of those numbers are below the season avg for the team of 73.9%.

Thanks, one of my "paste values" didn't take and I got a formula pasted which retrieved wrong numbers. I fixed itin the original post
