  • For The Non-Believers

WSU is 13-0. That gets national attention.

The number of media items about WSU's backcourt being one of the top in the nation is growing every day. That national recognition is for 2 Sophs and a Jr. That recognition is likely to increase next year. When the national media is giving accolades to a couple of Soph's, they tend to follow them for a couple of years. I don't think Baker and VanVleet will disappoint.

Early and (especially) Baker became media darlings for their performance in the NCAA's last year. We've got the D3 JuCo guy who's a solid NBA prospect. We've got the small-town kid from western Kansas, who's getting speculation for leaving college early.

VanVleet was only a top-100 recruit, but he's already being ranked in the top 20 PG's in D1. Some are predicting that by the time he's done, he will be one of the best in D1.

Murray State got huge pub for going undefeated through 20-some games. The Shox have every opportunity to match that winning streak. A big difference is that the Shox are doing that coming off of a F4.

If the Shox make it to 23 or 25 and 0, the pub is going to be insane. It will be earned. The Shox don't have the NBA All-Stars that Gene Smithson had, but they've got the guys to do what those players achieved.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
