  • If you could have one player....

back from last years team, who would it be? Just tired of going round and round about SOS and Poll watching. so as we start to make the run through the conference, where do most of you see a major weakness. Although Carl Hall was the heart of last years team, I think the lack of depth at PG is going to kill the Shox come tourny time so if I could bring one player back it would be Malcolm., But if Im going to really dream, put Toure back on this team and WSU has a real shot to win it all.

While we are dreaming here I'll take the following recent 5.

    Malcolm
    Baker
    Toure
    Cle
    Miller

Think that could win some games?

It would be sweet to have Armstead as a backup PG. But we could use Hall's consistency at the 5 right now more than we need a stud backup PG.

I'd take Malcolm Armstead and it isn't close.

          +1.

Hall or Armstead in a game with no foul trouble or injury issues might be a wash. But our depth at the 1-2 and especially the point is a much bigger issue than at the 4-5.

I'd take Hall in a second! Our front court depth is much more suspect than our backcourt, and I prefer FVV over Armstead to run the point. This isn't football, players at different positions are easily swapped, and I'm perfectly comfortable with Baker bringing the ball up the court when FVV sits. In the front court however, if Carter sits we have absolutely no one I trust at the 5.

You would take Armstead over all other players from last year, and it isn't close?

                Or

My assumption was that the question was about who you could have back from last year's team that isn't actually back this year. Basically, which one of the seniors.

If I'm starting a new team and only get one player from last year's squad, the decision gets a little harder.

I'd like to see Mal backing up FVV this year, and I'd like to have Stutz back too. I think he could put up some serious numbers playing with guards that are interested in feeding him the ball.

I was gonna say stutz too. He isn't last year though.

Stutz was the last true center we had. I don't even know that it would work on this team, but I remember how much teams had to throw at him. I just think it would be really interesting to see what games would look like when stutz can take a well placed feed in the post, receive a double team, then toss up a 5 to 4 oop to Cle.
