Thanks for the comments, everyone, and appreciate the links provided, MadboutWU. Perhaps I'll get to see some more games this year.

It's just my general impression, but it seems like this team is very disciplined. The Smithson teams weren't necessarily undisciplined, but "show time" seems a more appropriate descriptor of them.

        Have a happy holiday season!

          Shocker Fan Since 1961-1962 Team

IMO a major strength of this Shocker team regards a "go to guy" has been well characterized by previous posters. This team as last years is well coached and well disciplined with players raising their game as required by relevant circumstances. Our starting three guards are as good as any in the country and the best three by far in the State of Kansas.

At the beginning of this season I was concerned that the team lacked the "synergy" of last year's starting five. In the last few games our bigs (Darius, Cleanthony and Kadeem) have begun to play bigger roles in the outcome of games and I look forward to Evan Wessel's return to the level of play he offered prior to his injury last year. Hopefully this scenario will unfold and we will again enjoy watching the Shockers March through the Big Dance all the way to Dallas!

The following Table illustrates the progress Marshall has brought to Wichita State and the State of Kansas -

          Season KU Tournament WSU Tournament
          2013-2014 7-3 11-0
          2012-2013 31-6 NCAA Sweet 16 30-9 NCAA Final 4
          2011-2012 32-7 NCAA Final 2 27-6 NCAA Final 32
          2010-2011 35-3 NCAA Elite 8 29-8 NIT Champion
          2009-2010 33-3 NCAA Final 32 25-10 NIT Round 1
          138-22 122-33
