It is definetley a team effort inside. Darius is trending towards the player we hoped for. Amazing what happens when shots start dropping. What puzzles me is that I don't think he has a dunk this year. What's up with that? CJ still plays soft every now and then but has had some good efforts in key moments. Puzzle number 2 is Kadeem. For whatever reason I feel comfortable with him on the floor. He catches the ball, doesn't turn it over. Great, crowd pleasing dunks. Solid defense. But his play doesn't translate to numbers on the stat sheet. Go figure.

Collectively their defense, particularly the step out on top and recover to the basket, has been outstanding.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

If you think he doesn't have a dunk, you missed Sportscenter.

You're right. Don't watch Sportscenter but I do remember the one now that you say that. Not saying he has to dunk to contribute, just saying I thought it would be a common occurance after seeing him at Shocker Madness.

He is still adjusting. Wait til February and watch how he dunks.

Kadeem's problem is he doesn't know how to rebound. The only regular player with less rebounds than him is Wiggins. You want to play for Marshall, you got to rebound the ball.

All three look borderline average. I'm just hoping that continuous improvement is made and by tourney time, the ole light bulb has begun to shine bright.

                post play

I for one has been pleased with our post play. These guys really seem to complement each otheir and their attitudes are outstanding. I think we are lucky to have post players with good hands and all are athletic in there own way. They shoot free-throws very solid, carter is pretty automatic and i think we saw over the last two games were pretty physical and can handle ourselves pretty good. Darius is for sure on the rise, chadrack is still playing well and colby has given us some good minutes, i really dont have any anxiety with whoever is in there. overall pleasantly pleased!!!!

This, our true post play was never supposed to be our dominant phase of the game.

Good point about the anxiety. As much as I loved EO, he made me nervous every offensive possession. He was either going to lose the ball, brick a 3 footer or get fouled and have to shoot free throws.

I think that point that has been under addressed in relation to our posts is how they have handled screen action on both offense and defense. Both Hall and EO were very good at both setting screens on offense and hedging screens on defense. I had a lot of concerns that we would struggle to replicate what they did in these two areas of the game (and perhaps pick up a lot of fouls in the process). The first game or two there were some issues, but on the whole we have been far better than I was expecting. Execution on those kind of basic things are easy to take for granted, but make or break a season.

I'm expecting 10 and 8 in 25 minute average over the rest of the season. NCOY? 6th man? He good!
Those would be Carl Hall type numbers. We would be in really solid shape.

All you have to look at is who ends games at the 5, not who begins them. Carter is improving every game and he is the one who has been getting minutes at the end of the past three games.

Lufile and Coleby are borderline average if you look at other top 25 teams, however we have Early (not a true post, but a 4) and Carter, who has made HUGE improvements since the start of the season. His numbers currently put him squarely in the category of "weapon." He might be the 5th or 6th option, but if he continues his pace since he sat with an injury, he is going to be very good down the stretch.
