  • It would be nice if they would hire a WSU grad!

    • SC Kansas is Shocker Country. There must be a logical explanation. What say you, Grant?

      • Just read through the Tennessee message board about our game. Didn't really learn alot other than the fans want Martin to go. There was alot of respect for Cotton on their board and this is one of the quotes. "I want a player like Cotton on my team. Plays defense, offense, everything. Complete player."

Am I the only one who finds that T ironic given the BS tech Hall got against UT last year?

Thanks for posting the comment about Cotton. I tried to read their game thread but it is 88 pages long. I skimmed through some of their pages and mostly found a lot of complaints about their coach and the Technical. Many of them said you would never see that called in their arena or anywhere else. Which I found very ironic since it was called twice on WSU last year in their arena (Hall and Armistead as I recall).

RPIForecast.com predicts Tennessee as a borderline top 50 RPI team. That's probably the third biggest win we'll have before the tournament.

I think their fans are being unnecessarily hard on their team. Tennessee looked like a tournament 6-seed to me. And McRae is a possible lottery pick. They're going to have a great year in the SEC.

Incredible start to the season. It's one thing to start off 10-0 if you have the schedule of, say, Missouri State. But we're 10-0 including four wins over top 100 RPI teams, three of which have a very good shot at being top 50 at the end of the year. And three of those wins away from Wichita. We've had a strong nonconference schedule and still had the best start to a season ever.

              I think I'll remember today for a while >=)

              • Guys let's be honest, which is bigger news? That KU finally didn't lose (whew), or that WSU did what everyone in town already knew they would do (yawn)?

                    • I watched channel 3 sports growing up (KARD-TV at the time). I can't remember why. Maybe it was because Ralph Miller's brother did the sports.

                      • Yahoo thinks this might be the dunk of the year.

                        It was impressive, no doubt.

For reference, our kids understand it's only worth 2 points, and not the end all be all. That J-Mac (and much of the UT team) does not understand that, and that our kids have an incredible understanding of this, is why we're 10-0 and they aren't.

The bigger news should have been the local team...not one way up north. I'm sure the Lawrence station does not show Shocker sports before KU first...I get a little tired of our TV stations placating a team I have no interest in rather than focusing--or at least prioritizing--their news and highlights on the team in their own city.

If he wouldn't have negated it with the T, and if they had won the game, maybe.

                            • I've read several accounts of the game that spoke of "limited minutes"for Stokes and Maymon. Stokes played 7 minutes less than his average, Maymon 7 minutes more than his average. That is an exact wash!

                              Cotton was 0-4 (0-1 from 3) with 1 rebound and 1 assist in 17 first-half minutes.
Cotton was 4-7 (2-3 from 3) with 4 rebounds and 3 assists, a block, two steals and ,oh, yeah, 9-11 Free throws in 20 minutes in the second half.
"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

                              • My only negative comment about this game is PLEASE get some different plays on inbounding the ball. Having to deplete our time outs because we can't get the ball in is probably not something Marshall is happy about. I know that teams scout how we inbound but if we only have one or two ways of getting the ball in, well that's not too hard to defend. Is there some reason we have the shortest guy on our team inbounding the ball. I love FVV, but he can't see over trees.
