People like this need to be removed from the gene pool. Screwed up on SO many levels.

I get that NC's are the end all for an argument, but I can't help but think of how funny it would be if LOLoyola was still bragging about their past success. At what point does bragging about a different season become old? I guess pointing to the past is all you can do when you aren't the cat's meow currently.

As a Yankees fan (don't hate me...I was rooting for them in the late '80s/early 90s before the championships and George's spending spree...and my mom has rooted for them since the days of Mickey Mantle), how dumb would it be for me to try to remind Cardinals and Red Sox fans (my two absolute least favorite MLB teams) that the Yankees lead them in World Series titles right now? The Sox are the current champs and have three of the last ten titles, and the Cardinals also have a couple of recent titles and arguably have had the most success in baseball over the last three years (3 LCS, 2 WS, 1 title). While history is certainly important, at some point, the here and now takes precedent. Yes, the Beakers have history...but Wilt, Danny, and Mario aren't winning them any games this season.

I know that. Just used a name of one of their "legends" that they trump as part of their mystique and aura.

          • I will bet you dollars to donuts that the KU fans that piss people off the most are probably not alumni and would feel very insecure walking the streets of Lawrence.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

This is really true. I work with three KU grads, and they all have a great time talking to me year in and year out about KU basketball as well as Shocker basketball. Its never bad. They have absolutely no problem with WSU and love attending WSU games whenever our company season tickets are available to them. I have even had the same experience with the K-State grads who work here.

On the other hand, just like you are saying, its some of the non-grads I know that are the most ridiculous.

You know, I hate to say it, but one has to wonder if it all just comes back down to intelligence and education...

This. A large segment of their fanbase are JoCo T-shirt fans. They've probably never set foot anywhere west of Wyandotte County.

                  ... No really, deuces.

                  • KU can make a DVD for their national championship in 2008 but WSU can not make a DVD for their Final Four run? I just love the arrogance that comes from both Manhattan and Lawrence.

My wife thinks I am incredibly lame for being on SN all the time. However, you made her smile when I showed her that you said this about that. Now, can you kindly give her a call and tell her that its okay if I want to go to St. Louis this season? I still haven't won that battle yet.
