So during those disco outings, the Shocker was being passed around? Interesting. I thought it gained its popularity (or infamy) in the 90's.

No, neither the Shocker nor the W were known to him before this century. Perhaps others were using it, but he hadn't seen either prior to about 06.

Do we really have to have this same conversation about every 6 months?

I know for a fact that I've seen the cheerleaders doing the W as early as the late 90's. It was only then that the shocker sexual hand gesture appeared. So to me, that would mean the W was innocently created, while the sexual hand gesture phenomenon came after - meaning there was no bad intent with the original W and thus no sexual origins with it. People now just assume that it was always in poor taste.

I don't think I've been involved before. If someone would get me a link I'll read more and post less.

Well don't be naive and we will not have to discuss. If you think that is really a W, we know you were not a student when this started. Don't even ask about the cheerleaders and their favorite acronym SMLF - (shocker memories last forever)

That pretty much doesn't explain anything.

Wrong. Been going to games since 70's and never have seen this until several years ago. Strictly a "wink wink" ha ha deal. Dumb as hell.

And what does "several years ago" constitute? Maybe you weren't looking for it? I just told you I have seen the W in the late 90's. FACT. Just because you didn't see it or didn't notice it on TV doesn't mean it didn't happen. Besides, I still think you're a Creighton lurker anyways.

Fever, read your own posts. First you said "I'm pretty sure" then it became "I know for a fact". Doesn't surprise me.

Well, I was trying to make a subtle statement but you flew in with a matter-of-fact "WRONG" reply so I had to one-up ya.

Your posts here just scream lurking opposing fan.

Take a gander over at the Urban dictionary. It could be worse.
