The more I think about it, I'm pretty sure almost every non con team we played is either a conference champion or a contender (like WKU, BYU and Will&Mary) except for, you guessed it, Tennessee and Alabama. :)

They're in a 4-way tie for first and none of the remaining top 4 teams have games against each other. On a side note, when did C-USA become a 16 team monstrosity? I hate conference realignment.

Tulsa has wins over middle Tennessee and southern miss. Louisiana Tech has a win over Tulsa, but they also have to face a decent UAB team on the road. Tulsa is most likely to win out at this point. Surely there are tie breakers. If nothing else, a tie for 1st is still a banner. Just ask Title Town :)

Mitch Holthus was on the Shane Dennis show today and talked about how almost all of the conference leaders were loaded with 4th and 5th year players, most of whom were at the same school the entire time. He mentioned this while explaining the down cycle of the MVC. He expects the Valley to be much stronger over the next couple of years.

Mitch is brilliant and entertaining.

I just watched the replay on this. It's fascinating to me how unwilling coaches are to make the simplest of strategic moves. If you are up 2 with 1 second left and shooting a free throw, you HAVE to purposefully miss that shot, which results in a full court heave for the win. Instead, he makes the free through, they get to in-bounds the ball with the clock stopped and hit a guy for a wide open three point shot.

Bill Walton is the main reason for my knowing where the mute button is on my remote. "My dog...he's a good dog..... don't interupt me with basketball talk during the game, I am talking about my dog...." or "I like her, she had back surgery...much like me...." Freaking John Madden on steriods except Madden kept it on topic.

At first I was rooting for ISUb to win this game but they aren't going to get into the top 50, so I guess we should hope that maybe UNI can get into the top 100 if they win this and win a couple in St. Louis.
