There's still places in Texas that turn down service to black football players when the team stops to eat on the road and make them get their food at the back or through the drive through

This. And if you think is is only "non-colored" who have this mindset you are deeply mistaken.
I was refused service at a restaurant in Baton Rouge. Big sign posted as you walk in that they reserve the right to refuse service to any person, at any time, for any reason, and that entering the establishment acknowledges seeing it. I figured it was to help keep out those that hadn't showered in weeks, or the arrogant idiots who want everything their way.
This was a VERY well known national fast food place. It was past midnight. My friend walked though the drive-through with the black players. and yes, they were still open.

You can post a sign but you can't refuse service based on race. If some place does they are opening themselves up to huge lawsuits. .

Most drive throughs will refuse service to anyone walking through

But just like in hiring situations, it's incredibly difficult to prove. If you accuse a restaurant of discriminatory practices, all they have to do is say in court "he smelled."
I think you are either making this up or were misinformed. Business owners don't risk having everything taken away from them even if they are racist, not in this day and age. BTW, I've traveled to the south on sports teams with black athletes and never been refused or anything other being an ass. We were kicked out of a couple of places for being jerks.
