The fans were not booing the injured player, they were booing the fact that the guy traveled and instead of calling the travel, the ref stopped play for the injury. The ref blew the call. The guy rolled his ankle and stumbled before starting to bounce = travel. Ok to stop play at that point but make the right call for crissakes. The fans were pissed and rightly so.

We would have had exactly the same reaction in Koch Arena.

Since you ask, I'll say possibly. Depends on what I might have been "defending" them of.

Their current RPI is 23 and SOS 51. All four loses to ranked teams, although the last 2 were very recent and at home, so I probably think less of them now than I did (which was probably a top 18-22 team at the time). They are still most likely top 25-30 as one could poke holes in any of the other teams ranked around them.

I don't know what level you feel they should be so they wouldn't be a fraud or a team that sucked. Although, for me, I'd consider it a waste of time, feel free to actually prove your point showing why there is a lot of teams behind Pitt that should be higher than them.

The guy didn't travel. He was bouncing around and swiveling on his pivot foot. He did not leave the ground. Even if it had been traveling, I would have been embarrassed if our fans had booed just because of how it happened. Even the announcers pointed out that they were out of line.

I know, what was up with that? Has their season been going that poorly. He looked like he was about to lose his job.

How does this guy call so many games?

His facial expressions and body language always make him look confused.

Well, let's see. We actually have more Top 50 wins than they do.. and they play in the freaking ACC. And they've also had 2 more opportunities than us at Top 50 wins as well. They're 1-4 vs. Top 50 with their best win being a neutral court win over a very mediocre Stanford team.

Every ranked team they've played, they've lost to. Not to mention that their offense blows. They needed two overtimes to beat a horrible Virginia Tech team at home today.

They're not that good. Just the benefit of a horrible non-con and being in the ACC.

And no, this isn't the same argument against WSU. They've had way more opportunities to prove themselves and they haven't. We get limited opportunities to prove ourselves and we haven't lost yet.

Pitt is not as good as you led them on to be.

                  • SIU is leading MO State at the half. Game is on the Valley TV network, FOX Sports KC (Channel 34 in Wichita). SIU looks like they have improved a lot since the Shockers played them in Carbondale. It could be a tougher game than expected on Tuesday night.

This is a thing of beauty! Bear fans ran Hinson out of town like no other. They didn't pay him, bad mouthed him and his family and claimed Barry couldn't recruit, develop players or coach x's and o's. Barry took over a joke of a program at SIU, yet is currently drilling MSU.

This couldn't happen to a nicer guy (Hinson) - or a more deserving fanbse (MSU)!!!!!!!!!!!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

One thing I like about you Fev, among other things, is that you are consistent in how you reply.

First, my comments had nothing to do with WSU or comparing them to WSU. None, nada. They do not. However, Pitt had a generally weak non-con, stronger conference schedule. We has a stronger non-con, but weaker conference play. So, both had a weak and strong part of their schedule. Any comparison stops right there.

Second, I said how good (or in your terms, bad) Pitt is. I think 25-30, maybe a little higher, maybe a little lower. I also said that the other teams around that range also have varying problems and that Pitt's problems are not any bigger than those other teams. I asked where you'd have them. Frankly, I don't think any team in the top 50, maybe top 75 suck. That's the top 15-20% of all D-I teams.

Yes, they failed on their 4 tries against ranked teams. However, outside a 15 point lose to Duke, they lost by a combined 9 points to the other 3 teams. Again, that's not really sucking.

While Pitt may or may not be as good as I led them on to be (I have dropped them a huge 7-8 spots), we still don't know how "sucky" you think they are.
