I think WSU is past that...at least for this year...let's assume the worst and say the Shockers ose TWICE before selection Sunday...how far do they drop seed -wise? I think NO WORSE than a 3...your thoughts?

A number of variables here. Who, where, and when those potential losses would happen. Road loss to IN St would impact less than a home loss to Evansville. Currently, we may take a drop after 1 loss that would "at this time" make us a 3 seed, but would have future wins to bring us up while others are losing games. Also, the longer we do not lose, the harder it will be for all those who have us rank high for so long a time to drop us very far.

While I'm not sure a 3 or 5 seed is the abyss (many here would have loved a guarantee of that at the beginning of the season), with little help from other teams around us, I think 1 loss is probably a 2 seed, 2 losses a 4. If others around us have difficulties, both of those could improve. I know seedings and RPI rankings are not connected to each other that close, but I believe rpiforecast.com would still have us about 10-12 if we end up with 2 losses.

What a bad night for our resume. Indy St loses to SIU and drops to 56 in RPI (no longer a top 50 win). Missouri St loses to the Drake dropping to 95 in RPI (very close no longer being a top 100 win) and Illinois St loses to Bradley dropping their RPI TO 119.

There are now no other Valley teams in the top 50 and only 2 teams in the top 100. We really need Indy St, Miss. St, UNI and Illinois St to win their remaining games (except against us) otherwise our resume is not going to be very strong looking on selection Sunday.

This - we need to forfeit our remaining games and start practicing for next year along with only scheduling Top 25 teams in pre-season - this is just too much to overcome.

Sorry, SF. I think the LSU students hit the nail on the head. After last year's fail, Kentucky comes back this year with the same approach of adding another 5-6 who think they're all one-and-doners. The press and coaches buy in, again, making them pre-season #1. I couldn't be happier that Calamari and his Blow Bloods are underperforming expectations. I just hope they continue to play like their "overrated".

How long will UK fan base tolerate this? Especially if KU and Duke outperform with their daycare rosters?

One nice thing about ISUb losing to SIU is that even with a loss at ISUb we can avoid the co-champ bs. Can you imagine sharing a championship with ISUb in a year like this? Puke.

Hopefully ISUb will be letdown from this one and pick up another loss @ UNI.

I did think that. But I am not so sure any more. Right now we have 3 top 50 wins and 3 more that are in the top 100. That is pretty weak for a top seed, but probably okay. But Miss St is very close to no longer being a top 100 win (RPI 97 right now) and Tennessee and BYU are very close to dropping out of the top 50. If we finish the season with just one top 50 win and just 3 or 4 more that are in the top 100, we have no margin for error. Two losses with just 1 top 50 win and just 3 or 4 more in the top 100 and I could easily see the selection committee making us something like a 5 or 6 seed.
