There was no melt-down, but there were people saying we needed to play better and offering critiques of how the game could have been handled better. If that's melting down then...The mountains are calling, and I must go.

What a bad night for our resume. Indy St loses to SIU and drops to 56 in RPI (no longer a top 50 win). Missouri St loses to the Drake dropping to 97 in RPI (very close no longer being a top 100 win) and Illinois St loses to Bradley dropping their RPI TO 119.
There are now no other Valley teams in the top 50 and only 2 teams in the top 100. We really need Indy St, Miss. St, UNI and Illinois St to win their remaining games (except against us) otherwise our resume is not going to look like the resume of a top seed come selection Sunday.Last edited by shocker3; January 30, 2014, 02:46 PM.

I don't think there was ever any realistic hope that the Valley would enhance WSU's resume, 3. The highlight win of the year was, and will remain -- at least until March -- at St. Louis. Tennessee will probably be a top 50 win; Warren Nolan believes it will and projects that BYU will be as well, and a win at Indiana State would be well regarded as long as the Trees don't go up in flames.
The strength of WSU's resume, if the Shocks keep taking care of business, won't come from conference games. It will be based on an extraordinary record, success on the road, a few good non-league wins, and the avoidance of bad losses. That should be plenty good. Speaking of bad losses, Loyola last night could have been the SIU game from a few years ago, but this time the Shocks were good enough to win -- and do so comfortably -- despite a seriously off night, which is one of those things that everyone is just going to have at some point.
So just win, baby, and everything will be all right.
