That K-State defense sure made them look bad. I wouldn't write off Gonzaga yet though. It looked like they just ran into an unexpectedly tough KSU squad, who Weber has playing stellar defense.

    • I was at the game, and it was basically a KSU home game, probably even better than an actual home game, considering over 13,000 showed up for it. It was a fun game! Won't compare to seeing the Shox play tonight, but was more than happy to support some competitive college hoops in Wichita.

Yes, but how did your team do against the elite QBs? Don't be feasting on backup QBs.

I think you need to turn your sarcasm meter on.

There is absolutely no way there were 13k there. I saw it on TV and it had a TON of empty seats.

          • I see Depaul-ISUr as a lose-lose but I don't think Depaul has a realistic chance to crack the top 100, so I am rooting for the rpi advantage of ISUr winning. And I got to take the Valley over the Big East (though I'm not going to argue with anyone over their loyalties for this one).

ISU up 2 with 4:00 to play in the first half.

            • Didn't want to start a new thread for this question, so just decided to as it here. For 6 years running, from 2006-07 thru 2011-12, we have had either a New Year's Eve game or a New Year's Day game. But last year, and again this year, no such game. It seemed like we were starting a tradition of sorts. Anyone know why the scheduling changed? I couldn't check further back than 2006, so don't know if it went back any further.

? It all depends on your baseline. If you expect that 31-0 for WSU is the same as 31-0 for Duke, then yes, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Our record should be questioned, but if the guys take care of business, they're going to be sitting on a top 15 RPI and probable protected seed. I see nothing wrong with that. Do you?

But his comment mirrors his usual "the sky is falling" disaster that he's know for.....the schtick is old and that's why he gets grief from me, albeit mostly friendly grief.

13,224 was the official attendance. My impression from being there was that is was about 90% full. Not sure what the capacity of Intrust is...

                  • 15K straight up so 13.2 is quite close to 90%. Official attendance is always going to be higher (a lot or a little) than actual attendance.

LMFAO! Did KC predict them to have four losses too?

I was referring to the fact that if we do end up with a pretty great record and get a high seed there will be those in the National Media, as well as coaches from teams that didn't get as high a seed as we did, complaining that it was undeserved due to our SOS. Yes it does mirror his usual pessimism but he is correct in this case. But yes, if you are willing to accept the fact that a 31-0 WSU is not the same as a 31-0 Duke you won't be too disappointed by the dissenters.

The fact of the matter is Tennessee has Sh** the bed(worse than pissing in bed), BYU has had plenty of great opportunities and hasn't capitalized, and St. Louis hasn't had time to get enough signature wins yet (likely to get some in A-10).

                              • The Bells of St Mary's ring no more, they lose to S. Carolina in the Diamond Head Classic and fall from the ranks of the unbeaten. The Shox received a shout out from the announcers late in the game pertaining to our participation next year in Hawaii.
