  • K-State sidebar (file this under stuff you already know). I talked to someone today who attended the KSU/Ole Miss game last week (but is a WSU season tix holder). Said the announced crowd there was 12k but it was a fraction that actually showed. Said that KSU's atmosphere was really laughable compared to the Roundhouse.

KSU up three with 42 seconds left.

    • KSU has missed 5 of 5 FT's in the closing seconds to give S. Dak a chance for a 3 to tie with 5.9 left.

            • The Valley has become the Horizon league before Butler left. Other than the Bears and maybe the Aces and Redbirds I don't see anyone getting much better anytime soon.

                  Seriously.

IUPUI is Indiana University, Purdue University/ Indianapolis. I'm not sure of their mascot.

I think Drake has some upside...they signed some good players in November and I like their coach. They actually have a couple of decent wins this year too.

Don't bail on them quite yet.

                    • I think us and KState need to switch conference affiliations.

                        I forgot about Drake.

I just wonder if besides MSU and ISUr if we have anyone in the conference with more upside right now than a Cleveland State, Detroit or UWM?

                        • Just looked at the UNI box score. The only way they were able to beat a winless (against D-1) Savannah State was to force 12 more turnovers. UNI shot 15% from 3 (3-20) and 52% from the FT line (12-23). The Panthers got outrebounded by 7.

                          Ugh.

                          • It sounds silly but IPFW isn't a bad team. They should've won at Illinois a few weeks back and have two losses by 1 point, including an 81-80 decision to Dayton. No excuse for Bradley to now have lost to IUPUI and IPFW at home.

To add, there was a pretty good PF disparity as well, 22-7, which lead to the Panthers getting 14 more FT. Over the last 4:30, UNI was 1-2 from the field while going 6-14 from the line.

With the new rules, can a team commit only 7 PFs and still be considered as playing defense?
