I want a team like Tennessee or BYU to pull off some upsets. These little things could help push this season out of "a great season" category and into "one of the best season's ever" category."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Due to 34-0, this year is going to stick in the national memory much more than last year. If WSU wins the National Championship, the regular season SOS probably won't matter, but anything less and the regular season SOS will be forever part of the debate about how good this WSU team was historically. I want this season to be remembered as one of the all-time greats. St. Louis possibily falling out of the top 25 and WSU having zero top 25 wins in the regular season is not the type of thing to help this season get remembered as an all-time great. I'm greedy and want it all... wins, recognition, a place in history, etc.

Maybe YOU do, but no way in hell do I need St. Louis or Tennessee or anyone else to validate the success of this season. Mid season tournament champs, regular season champs, post season conference tournament champs, first #1 seed ever, #2 ranking for over a month, ranked all season, legitimate threat to win the National Championship, 34 and freaking Oh. They could finish 34-1 and NOTHING needs to validate anything to me.
Me thinks you're losing way too much sleep on the opinions of sheep.

I'm not losing sleep over what anyone else says. No joy is being taken from me. I will forever remember last season. I will forever remember this season. Amazing times and amazing memories.
However, none of that means that I have to have absolutely zero interest in what the national media says or does. I want the icing on the cake of having them forever talk about this team as one of the all-time greats. If I get that, great. If I don't, oh well. It won't ruin my day.
This isn't a controversial position to take. Anyone who says he takes absolutely zero, nada, zilch joy out of positive comments from the media is a liar.
