  • Our Assistant Coaches

I am so thankful for our asst coaches. I don't think they get enough credit for the value they bring to Shocker hoops. Jans, Heier, Forbes, Okun, Smith. Jans is like having a 2nd head coach on the staff. Excellent tactician and the one who Marshall often credits for in-game adjustments. Heier is a helluva recruiter - some of the key guys we have were brought in by Greg and his tirelss efforts and eye for talent. Forbes and his experience, Okun and his international ties, Smith is an up and comer.

    We've got it good Shockernation!

Smith is definitely not an up and comer. Agree with the rest of your post but Smith has zero business being mentioned with guys that actually get players.

They couldn't land A Wiggins so they must not be all that.

Sounds like a personal issue. I can tell you 100% Smith is a great representative of Shocker Basketball, and while he cannot recruit, is part of getting players to come back after visits.

I also believe that Smith deserves a lot of credit and that he is valuable. He has been given a lot of responsibility for recruiting during visits.
