You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Doesn't jump off the charts, but Wichita State's Ron Baker has really impressed me today

        • A few more ... but generally I don't like filling up threads with Twitter quotes ...

Ron Baker is an excellent passer. He needs to improve handle. Excellent understanding
          Coach John Lucas ‏@CoachJohnLucas1 12h
Ron Baker is filling it up. And so is Joe Young. Both with range & sweet touches. #LeBronJamesSkillsAcademy

College standouts: Bobby Portis (touch/Runs), Buddy Heild (jumpshooter), DJ Newbill (beast PG/vision), Ron Baker (skilled/shooter)#LBJSkills

Now its Ron Baker's turn on LeBron. Doing a solid job.

Wichita State guard Ron Baker, who is 6-4, was just guarding LeBron in the post. Held his own too.

You're a kid growing up in Scott City, walk on to a in-state university, go to the Final Four, become a standout, get invited to an elite camp, guard LeBron James... It's more than pretty neat, its what movies are made of.

                • No matter what his future holds I can almost promise you it won't include a photograph of him with a rolled up $20 in a Vegas bathroom.

That's probably true. Good chance though he will leave some more kids heartbroken because he is too busy to sign an autograph though. Like at the K. Definitely the anti-Manziel though.

                    • Yep. Ron Baker is a bad kid. He isn't a role model. It would be way better if he slashed his throat and made goggle eyes every time he made a three on his way to an early loss in the NIT during his best season.

I don't actually mean that. I'm actually a Kyle Weems fan. He was great for the Valley. It's about as baseless and irrelevant to judge his character by it as it is to judge Ron's for his failing to sign an autograph once.

Eh. It was a joke. And Kyle Weems is most definitely not a role model. He is the sort of kid that is good at basketball and you just kind of clip your nose shut and hope he doesn't embarass his home institution too much kind of guy.

                        • That helicopter sound is Ron's draft stock continuing to elevate. His measurements at this camp are going to open a lot of doors- most of the scuttle had him as a PG at the NBA-level during the season. That kind of length and build makes him a much more attractive draft option.

Good chance he will be in the lottery conversation most of the year IMO.

Wow. I actually didn't know that. I always assumed he was probably pretty decent and we just ribbed him because of the rivalry. I guess it kind of ruins my point if he wasn't seen as a classy guy in Springfield. Did he have off the court issues?

This is the first time I've seen a SWOMO fan refer to Weems as anything other than a pillar of the community and God's gift to society.

Uh, well, no, eh, they, um, think, uh, he's a, stand, um up, cough, cough, guy.

Aw, screw it. Read this if you dare.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
