Yes interesting. Hadn't thought of that one.
But I believe if he is projected at least middle first round
    He would take it.

I think that the lottery situation in combination with the depth of the 2015 draft as opposed to the 2016 draft will be analyzed. If Cle had his reputation of this year during last years draft, he probably would have been a lottery pick but as a juco player he needed this year to build his reputation. Ron's reputation may be a year ahead and he may just have to build on if this year by being injury free and being our leading go to guy. It could happen.

        Go Ron!
        Go Shocks!!
You aren't going to mask an injury in the draft. They couldn't even hide a foot injury from HS

That's the key. If he drops to the second or later round, he'd have to work his way up. If he's a potential lottery pick, then even if he drops out of the lottery picks, he'll still probably remain a first rounder.

          • I would be willing to bet, you go back and check all of the so-called experts, pundits, agents, coaches etc. you'll find a couple hundred kids to fill 60 spots. Fair, Craft, McAdoo, Young, Carson, Kane, Ejim all so-called locks to be drafted. Tough nut to crack. Money is not great for everyone overseas. Makes for a tough life. Hats off to TM for the rigors he went through. No guarantees.

            • Yes, Mr. Obvious, I believe you've lived up to your name. There are no doubt way more "candidates" speculated upon as first rounders than there are spots in the first round -- Russ's list from ESPN would interesting to check out if it weren't Insider content closed to us penny pinchers. And who knows how many currently anonymous Euros will actually have their names called in Round One on draft night, thus using up more spots.

This kind of wildly premature, total guesswork is an indication of why guys like Baker, not to mention players with bigger national followings, are probably eager for the moments when they can just be left alone to focus on life, school, and basketball.

              • if i recall correctly, ron could graduate this next spring as he redshirt his freshman year.

                • Ron won't get drafted unless he changes the style of his sunglasses. Now AFTER he gets a contract, he can go all Dennis Rodman and wear a tutu. But until then we can literally see his maturity level is just not where it needs to be to get the nod from an NBA squad. We'll know he's ready for prime time once he swaps the Paris Hilton look for some Terminator shades (come on you remember the Gargoyles!). More slam boy -- less "glam boy".

In fact, I think I just found my new nickname for Baker: Glam!

                  • Yeah, no one in the NBA wears weird glasses for no reason. :encouragement:

                    • Maybe the fact that he is already wearing ridiculous glasses should raise his stock. It's another nba trait that he possesses

I think this puts him closer to #10 on the future draft board

Wichita State's Ron Baker is the same height and the same wingspan as Hield, but checked in at 222 pounds, making him one heaviest 2-guards in our database. Though he's not the same caliber of athlete, Baker is roughly the same size as Dion Waters, who measured 6'4 in shoes with a 6'7.25 wingspan and a 221-pound frame at the 2012 NBA Combine. Listed at 6'3-215, Baker measured better than expected.

I think they mean Dion Waiters, a 6'4" SG for Cleveland Cavs via Syracuse. Personally I think Baker is the better player and with Wiggins going to the Cavs look for Waiters to be traded.
