  • NORMAL ILLINOIS HIT BY TORNADO

ISU was not hit but here is a picture. We have several MVC brethren in severe need right now. I'm on my way to their forum to give condolences.

Was known for the past several days that today had the possibility to be a horrendous day weather wise in the MW/OV range. Sad to see it had to hit populated areas today. Prayers to those affected.

The weather just isnt the same as it was 30 years ago growing up here in Kansas. It would get cold in October and stay that way until end of March or early April.

                        Nowdays its 70F in November.

October was colder than normal for the continental U.S. For Kansas it was 31st coldest October on record. There has only been one day in Wichita I believe that has been 70 or above in November.

Do you realize how absolutely insignificant 30 years is over the course of the earth's existence? I can go back as little as last year and report to you that as late as April 23rd, we had a high temperature of 37. Not a low temperature, but a HIGH temperature. Even as late as May 4th, we had a high temperature of 50.

You look at one week of weather and think it's climate change? Sorry, that's not how it works. If you think we're supposed to hit the average temperature every day of the year and if it doesn't happen, there's something wrong, well then, you're loopy.

If you don't like the 70's in November, just wait til the end of the week and it'll be in the 30's for yah. You gonna scream global warming then? Guess what? The 70's one week and the 30's the next week gets you to our "average" of 50's for this time of year. And that's how it works.

And I'm so ready for this thread to go towards the off-topic forum.
