Another win that looks a lot better if you just look at the box score than if you watched it.
Everybody is harping on the big guys....and I will join right in. They simply have to get better. Someone, ANYONE that is over 6'6" and not named CleAnthony please GO GET a REBOUND! Its not enough to just box your guy out...you have to go get the ball with both hands while it is still above your head. Lufile and Carter both have the bodies to be absolute bruisers in the paint....and the only time I see it is when they are fighting for offensive position, which they get, are rewarded with the ball......and despite their good post position....fire up a hook shot as they cross the middle of the lane. The only good thing out of that sequence is they are battling for position. Maybe coach wanted the posts to work on a baby hook in practice, but I think its time to break out the bags and beat on 'em, making them go through the contact and to the rim with two hands. If our bigs can't rebound or defend Tennessee is going to walk into IBA and blow the doors off this team. I think everyone knew that Carl Hall was a pretty good player, but I echo the sentiments above on his loss. He really did just clear out the low post. No offense to them, but a team like William and Mary should never, ever get that close to the rim for its shots. The ESPN gamecenter said "William & Mary layup" so many times I thought it was broken.Comment
