Some encouraging signs, some very glaring problems.

The Bad: Still going through scoring slumps. Rebounding needs to improve drastically. shot selection from the posts is....not good. <-- Looking at you Carter
The Good: The defense is still there, new rules be damned. Wiggins has improved his defensive awareness. Lufile is night/day improved from last year.
The Great: Fred. Ron's willingness to do anything and everything needed to help his team win.Tekele Cotton's defense.

All in all, solid effort but the post play worries me. If Coleby and Lufile can give us a few more rebounds a game, we will fine in MVC play and decent against most teams. Too early to read a lot into things, but Ron needs the JJ Reddick treatment...500 screens on each posession until he gets open, dude has a beautiful jump shot. This is a good team that should get better as the games click by. Barring injuries, this team is going to be very good.

I think Darius is going to be a half-season juco transfer this year. It's going to be dicey at the 4 when he's in for a while. Wish we still had Jake White to give some minutes. I hope Early's motor is up for the challenge, because we need to run him like a Toyota motor.

Lufile's confidence is growing with each game. He looked good the first half while Kadoosh struggled. Then Lufile sort of got lost in the mix when Kadunk started throwing it down.

There's something special about a Tekele dunk. It's not the smoothest or the most likely to break a backboard. I don't know what it is but it's a thing of beauty.

Wessel must not be a 1am in the morning player.

VanVleet doesn't give a rats arse what time it is. Give him the ball. That dude can PLAY!

I might have missed it last night or this morning but the STUDENTS were awsome last night. Got to my seats at 11:15 and the STUDENT section was already full and loud. Great throughout the game. Could not have been more proud of them all night long. Thank you

Evan may, and I emphasize the word, may have a bit of an off year from what we expect. HCGM has stated that Evan may play some at the 4 spot. That coupled with the depth at the 3 and the PG situation may mean Evan is having to make adjustments to his game in realtime when he is on the floor. It has to be tough for a guy who is 6'5" at the at that position. If he can get in the groove like Ben Smith did his senior year that will be great, but there were games when Ben came up big and games when he seemed to disappear somewhat - no doubt due to his size and the match ups in a given game. I think Evan will make major contributions, but it may not be in the ways we thought he would (this year). Again, think Ben Smith, Graham Hatch, etc...

Whomever is organizing the student section this year has my vote. GREAT JOB!!!!! And it was all game long. Just keep up the good work. Great to see.
