We have 31 games if you include Emporia State :nonchalance:

I will stick with my 29-2 prediction which earned derision last month.

4 games in and you can make an even better prediction now? Lol I would at least wait for the first loss and get a few more games in the season before backpedaling...

Based on the 4-0 record, I think Kung Wu is going to predict an undefeated season!!!

Oh well in that case I like the optimism! Hope it rubs off! Lol ;)

At least they can't keep talking about Kentucky having an undefeated season. So why not SHOX? Lol

Not sure why you're standing on a soap box, but yeah, I think watching 5 games I know a lot more about this team than I did when I voted in this poll without watching even one practice.

I overestimated this team by probably two losses. That's not Chicken Little The Sky Is Falling. That's just realizing our bigs are going to take a little longer to gel than I had hoped. They are going to be a little streaky for more games than I initially guessed.

At 5 losses only 7% were more pessimistic than me and 10% as pessimistic. I would up it to 6 four games in maybe even 7. It would be interesting to do this poll as a snapshot at various points throughout the season.

Still saying 29-2. We are getting our worst out of the way early.

There will be lots of "mini trends" over three and four game stretches this year. Fans have a tendency to extrapolate way more from those spans than they should. Last season provides a beautiful illustration of this point.

Right now we are in one of those lackluster parts of the season. Soon enough we will play back to back games that will have people coming back to this thread and wondering how they ever had any doubts about our dominance. Then we will suck it up for a game or two and the sky will be falling, etc.

I think we will get significantly better as the season progresses, and the MVC blows hard this year. We are still a tank driving over a field of daisies.

Just for perspective, RealTime RPI has W&M at 172 Sagarin 228) and Tenn St at 227 (Sagarin 239). Middle of MVC in terms of rankings
                          RPI Sagarin
                          53 Wichita St. 28
                          59 Missouri State 97
                          60 Southern Ill. 172
                          113 Loyola (IL) 202
                          119 Bradley 143
                          190 Drake 183
                          250 Illinois St. 130
                          273 Northern Iowa 70
                          291 Indiana St. 67
                          299 Evansville 121

                          Kansas State is #211.
                          228 Penn St.
                          248 Purdue
                          314 Michigan

As you can see, wouldn't put much stock in either rating scheme, but for a flavor, these teams are not scum-of-the-earth.

Yeah, RPI is not even on the radar right now. Especially looking at Indiana State's, which I'm guessing will climb a little bit after today.

If our remaining games were against the same level of teams we have played so far there would be a good chance we could go undeated.

But, that is not the case, and it gets significantly more difficult from here out. I will guess that we will win 26 games.

Run another poll just prior to our first conference game so that we actually have something realistically to base any decision on.
