From what I understand, the EuroCup is the 2nd highest level of the European leagues, organized similarly to the way they do soccer. Teams from various domestic national leagues that don't have a a contract with the Euroleague (the top league) make up the majority of the competitors. They start with 48 teams in 8 pods, with 10 games between the 6 teams in each pod. Essentially this is a Player of the Week type award for the fourth week of their regular season. If his team wins the Eurocup, they get invited to the Euroleague.
I always find it interesting to here of our players playing abroad, as news tends to be rare. I'm glad to here that Ragland and others are doing well. As Mekel has shown, excellence abroad can sometimes lead to good opportunities.
