It's always hard to tell on one of these, but here's my thoughts:
Cleanthony looks really good! His defense wasn't bad either.
Baker went head to head with VanVleet. Not a new thought, but I expect FVV and Ron to start and Ron to back-up Fred. Fred's floaters weren't dropping, but these two are going to be one heck of a backcourt.
Wessel started off with a great feed to Tekele and then disappeared. Evan, Tekele, and Nick weren't overly noticeable. HCGM did mention that they decided to RS Evan last year even though he could have played in the NCAA.
We have some big athletic dudes! Carter, Coleby, and Lufile might all be monsters, but I didn't see great D from any of them. All three need to work on their footwork. I imagine Coleby will be the best center in the MVC this year. Shaq is behind the three aforementioned bigs IMO.
The game flow was pretty good. Not a lot of helper-skelter play or bad turn-overs. There weren't even many bad shots. I guess that's what extra practice will do for you.
