I would have been there if not for another conflict, so however many minutes (15 maybe?) we get on ESPN would not have kept me home.

I'm going to email the athletic department and beg them to archive it on ShockerVision.

Would that player be more impressed if he was in town this weekend and got to see 50 fans at the Open Clinic? I doubt it.

How does Shocker Madness compare to what the other schools who are recruiting this particular player do with their madness-type function? How many players have we had in on Shocker Madness night that are also being recruited by KU or UK and their ilk?

Clearly I have more faith that Coach Marshall knows what he is doing than you do, but that is just a difference of opinion we will have to live with.
I love how you put words in my mouth. I'm not now nor have I ever questioned Marshall's ability to recruit or his methods in doing so. But, if you can't figure out what I've been saying, that's on you and I'll just leave it at that.

Coach Marshall obviously determines how much of his budget he wants to devote to Shocker Madness. If he doesn't feel the benefits are worth the cost of putting on a big production then I can live with that. Coach Marshall has to allocate his budget much more judiciously then the UK's and KU's of the world in order to maximize he returns. I have to say his investment decisions to this point have yielded very nice returns.
This team made it all way the way to the semifinal ... of the NIT ... for their sweet laser light and smoke show:

I know this is supposed to be for the fans, but if they did less practice on their choreography and dunks, maybe they would be in the NCAA tourney where a team like Maryland should be.

Some folks sell the flash. Some sell the substance. I suppose what you tend to sell is what you have the most of to sell. Maryland with their crazy uniforms combinations, etc. seems to be heavily into selling flash.

Coach Marshall and the Shocks seem to concentrate more on selling the substance of what they are about. Not that we don't have some flash. The new locker rooms are pretty flashy but they are also of substance because they will be their 24-7 every day a player is a Shocker.

No doubt Jackie Carmichael was the inspiration for this show.

Apparently neither of you understand what the hell I was saying. But then again, reading comprehension has never been high on this board like spin has. You guys can believe whatever you want.

You're right, it's the old shits on the board who can't follow with what's actually being discussed and try to pull things in the only direction that their feeble minds can comprehend.

I've been spending a lot less time on this board and mostly because of the jackassery that is so plentiful. I think it's time to go hang with Cold. The rest of you can **** off. I'm out.

I rarely disagree much with your point or opinion, but I'm with the "old shitz". You did question Marshall's recruiting method as it relates to bringing in recruits during Shocker Madness. Maybe it's because you didn't articulate your position very well, I don't know. But it hardly calls for getting personal and slamming the whole board.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

I got my first season ticket a dozen years ago and renew every year and I have attended EVERY Shocker Madness since that time. I upgraded my seats last year and think it is some of the best money I have ever spent. I am one of what Sub refers to as the "old shits" on this board but I have always maintained that what we put forth for Shocker Madness is less than stellar. I always cringe when I hear that one or more recruits will attend because I don't think it puts us in the best light, especially when these recruits are being pursued by larger universities. I always read what Sub has to say with interest and I usually agree with him -- I just don't like being "lumped in" with a group. We are all fans and all entitled to our own beliefs. I think Sub may have gotten angry because he didn't feel like people were understanding his point of view. I happen to agree that we don't usually put forth our best foot when it comes to Shocker Madness -- it could be so, so much better. Instead of jumping on a poster for an opposite point of view maybe we should make suggestions to whomever is in charge of putting on an event like Shocker Madness and work to getting it better next year. I personally thought Doc had some really good ideas. I've always maintained that we needed to get the students more involved -- that's how the BCS schools pack their arenas for this type of event.

I think that is probably the key. Unfortunately it appears to be pretty difficult proposition.
